A hertiecaster, that’s how they call these guitars in Germany, this is a 4 pickup version and these are
reasonable rare, especial with this control configuration, this one has 1 volume , 2 tone and a switch for each
pickup, but the most common config is, 1 vol, 1 tone, killswitch and a switch for each pickup, checked if they
once altered this but no no trace of it so it’s original.
Except the knobs fully original, but offcourse the whammybar was missing but this time i had one in stock so
no need to cut up a servingspoon this time.
This is a kawai made guitar looking at the used pickups which are common for guitars of this builder during
the 60’s and 70’s, they have their own sound what i like, but are quite microphonic , the guitar is a good player
neverless.
I only needed to cleanup the bridge and free up the rollers which were rusted solid.
I alway have a weak spot for guitars like this with a lot of switches and pickups, these guitars flooded the
market during the 60’s and 70’s but from the mid 70’s they were getting extinct, a nice addition to my collection
imho.
