I owned 1 before but at that time my camera sucked, and this one is a true relic, bought him painted black
and unfretted, i guess osmeone wanted a fretlessbass, the painting they did because of the severe aged f
inish.
I removed that black goo and liked waht was beneath, to get it shinign was almost impossible so that didn’t
work either.
The knobs on it were to small and delicate to fit with this bass ,so i used a few big aged knobs instead, for
one of the tuners i made a new ear, this is was broken off sometime so out af a plate alluminium a made a
new one, the tuners still work fine so replacing them was not necessary.
The electronic needed some work, the potmeters were working on only a few positions, this caused the
bridge pu to sound very weak compared to the neckpu.
Refretting i tried myself(first time) and i did a nice job IMHO, the guitar is playable again and that’s what
counts.
Nice detail is the tigerstripe on the back while the front is a plain top, these days whe would do that the
other way around.
The nut is also unusual, a slotted piece of metal profile, you don’t need more with a zero fret.
