This one amazed me when i looked at it for the first time, it was made into a bass, the son of the people i bought it from wanted to play bassguitar but couldn t afford one at that moment so he modified this old EKO. He’ s a lucky guy that the neck survived it, luckely it was only for a few weeks that there were bassguitarstrings on it. Now it only needed new strings, a new topnut, O fret and fretwire in the bridge and a thorough cleaning, i tought, how was i mistaken. the pots were disconnected and there was a wire running from the tailpiece outside the guitar to the outputjack, this was covered by foam they glued on it, luckely the foam came of easely without damaging the paint. But still there was the problem getting all in original working order, and that’ s a f***kin’ pain in the ass job, after a lot of swearing i managed to fix and ,even without any unwanted noises ,the old original potmeter workd perfectly, beats me why they disconnected it. The hole the wire ran out is neatly under the tailpiece so not visuable at all.

It seems to be an unusual one this EKO 200, because EKO made guitars for VOX they sometimes branded guitars designed for VOX with their own name. The Vox guitars a little but more luxerious than the EKO’s a double binding, binding around the F holes, these features were not common on a normal EKO 200. But it has the much sought after VOX pickup (by VOX collectors) that has quit a high output and sounds really clear and sparkling. This one is now in near mint condition, no damages anywhere on the body .Only fault are the sharp fretwire edges, going to repair this soon.
