Orpheum 12 string
A beautiful addition to my collection, a Orpheum 12 string guitar in florentine style,
I was as happy as a kid when i managed to aquire this one, 12 string electric guitars are hard to
get an especially a beautifull like this one.
Orpheum was a subbrand of Egmond and that brand was not well known for their good neck’s
they tended to be warped or bowed.
You can imagine how happy i was when the neck on this one turned out to be perfectly straight
and with perfect fretwork, didn’t had to a lot of work on it, a few tuner rings were missing, the
bridge was a 6 string tom bridge, so needed a fitting bridge, the trusrod cover plate was missing
But after some rummiging around in my parts box, i managed to find everything i needed.
One problem, i hate tuning 12 string, but the result is good, plays smooth, nice 60’s sound and
feels sturdy, in comparison with other egmond, those all have a crickedy feeling.
Clearly this was a more expensive guitar made by Egmond, never seen closed tuners on a Egmond
before.
