Paisley Tele
Not realy a paisley but it’s the idea that counts, completely covered with a kind of vinyl.
I was amazed to discover that this was a fake guitar, it was sold to my by a friend of mine with the words you have to check it because it only hums and there is no sound.
Back home i tested it and yes only a loud hum, i openend it up and discovered that it’s a fake, some kind off school task i guess.
No wiring and no coils under the covers, so there was a lot of work for me.
Cut some slots under the vinyl (under the scratchplate) for the wiring, picked up a few egmond coils and built these in, mounted a bigsby i had laying around, replaced the bridge, bridge and tailpiece were crudely made pieces of alluminium, the bridge was nice enough to be used on my 60”s melody.
And damn, there is sound and it’s playable, so i’m quite proud of this job i’ve done.
Atleast a nice decoration piece, because to play on it is not that nice, the thing is extremely heavy, the body is made out of a sandwich of MDF and plywood, not that good for the tone.
But it’s sweet and that’s also a thing that’s important for a collector.
