Version 2.2
Stefano Caponetto
A very old Italian, Sicily (Catania) to be precise, in Sicily they were building a lot of guitars at the end of the
19th century till mid 20th century from various quality, mainly small luthiers build these guitars but these
luthiers were there in great numbers.
This guitar is most likely build as a starters guitar because the quality is not remarkable, but she’s very
decorative.
And that’s the strenght of these guitars, all are nicely decorated, inlayed etc.
Collectors of these guitars prodict that the value will rise the coming years, they are cheap to buy when you
manage to find one but the high decorative value makes them to be interesting forcollectors, just like has
happened with the italian vinyl covered guitars from the 60’s.

Like often is the case on these guitars , they are ment for
steelstrings, neverless they lack a trusrod.
The top has a crack in it, i managed to fixate this, a nice thing on
this guitar is that the original bridge is still there these often are
missing.
Also the tuners survived the passing of time, a 100% original
guitar this one.
The round back is a common feature on these old sicilians, it’s
simply said a nice looking guitar.
Playability is reasonable, but they used very thin fretwire which
is not a pleasant feeling.
And offcourse don’t expect a great sound .
