Art deco jazzbox |

|
They always draw my attention these old jazzboxes, just like this one did, brandless and with a nice thick three peice neck, weird on this guitar is that after the 16th fret there are no frets anymore! This strenghtens my suspection the guitar is older than i thought at first glance. The bridge is typical art deco design and the fragmented F holes point that way too, in the early days before the guitar got his recognition as a solo instrument it happened more that the bottom frets weren’t placed, why put frest there while you never use them was the common opinion. Only after ampification for guitars was possible the guitar was getting recognized as a solo instrument . This guitar is made completely out of solid wood something only seen on the more expensive guitars, once used in the Philips orchestra in Drachten the seller told me. |
