Brandless japanese (guyatone?)

I was in doubdt first to keep this one or not, he was extremely cheap completely original, and even played nice after i shimmed the neck, the way it was setup it was only suitable for slide.

I’m no 1 pu guitar guy but this one has something special, small, 20 frets, more a thing for kids, but the nicely aged to butterscotch blonde white, together with the chrome gives him a certain charme, but neverless i sold it on.

Most likely something form the kawai stable and made or branded guyatone, i base this on the chrome embossed scratchplate, this was a common feature on a lot of guyatone’s.

I only needed to polish, restring it and shim the neck, and amazingly the intonation is almost spot on, this is always a problem with guitars like this, sometimes it’s that far off the guitar is only suitable for decoration.

Nice detail is that the sticker “steel reinforced neck” is still there, things like these are mostly gone over the years, same goes for the bridge cover and whammybar, it’s rare to find one this complete and this increases the value of it greatly.

Over the years i’ve seen several guitars like this with various brandnames on it, Ibanez, Guyatone and Fuji are the most common, so it’s almost certain these little guitars were made by Fuji-Gen in japan.
